Babington House in Somerset, England
Easter weekend has been spent at Babington House in Somerset, England with country walks, visits to the pub, lots of chocolate of course and a trip around a 14th Century Cathedral to remember what Easter is all about. Having been fortunate to stay at Babington on a yearly basis since it opened in 1998, it is always voted in our family as the best hotel, and we love every visit.
There’s a little bit of Babington at Shen, as inside every bottle of Cowshed product we sell is a special herbal infusion carefully sourced from the grounds own walled garden overflowing with herbs, flowers and plenty of fruit and vegetables to serve at the dinner table. The Cowshed range is made entirely in England using natural and organic ingredients, essential oils and botanicals to suit every mood, whether you are a Lazy Cow or Wild Cow!
The original Cowshed Spa at Babington was quite literally the cow shed, hence the name of the range, but now as the hotel has expanded it has moved down to the walled garden with each treatment room overlooking the peaceful view. This spa is like no other spa I’ve tried, forget any clinical atmosphere here, think big comfy chairs to sink into, delicious home baked muffins and pastries served with freshly brewed herbal tea to delight you, and each treatment room as cosy as your own home. The list of treatments now available extends every time I come down from facials, manicures, reflexology to Oriental massage. I opt for a Moody Massage to try and invigorate tired muscles and a jet lag mind. The zesty blend of Grapefruit and Mandarin oils used help revive my body and ease any stresses away.
A job well done as ever, and a quick peruse around the Cowshed shop for some well needed hand cream and a try of their new alcohol-free anti bacterial hand santiser left me in a good place to head for the bar for a pint of English cider!
